IDRIS ELBA DELIVERS RAZOR SHARP CLUB RHYTHMS WITH ‘FUDGE’ FEATURING ELIZA LEGZDINA

Idris Elba graces us once more with his latest musical project – ‘Fudge’ on his London based imprint 7Wallace. Produced on set in Elba’s sun-soaked Australian trailer during filming, ‘Fudge’ quintessentially captures the heated asphalt afterglow of summer-nights with sharpened drum programming and dense vocal treatment.

Ricocheting percussive elements ladder voraciously through the energetic arrangement, the low-end thumps like an elevated heart rate pulsing in unison to the track’s tempo. “I made the song while I was filming in Sydney, multitasking baby. We sent it to Eliza and she smashed it out of the park. Ask yourself, who the Fudge ARE you”.

Hailing from Latvia, classically trained vocalist, poet, DJ and femme icon Eliza Legzdina is one of Eastern-Europe’s most exciting new propositions. A queer activist and proponent of body positivity, Eliza’s lyrics are loud in their sex positive affirmations and explore the sensuous nuances of being a powerful feminine lead, and describes her provocative imagery as scraping nails down the blackboard of the musical patriarchy.

“Just before I got an email from Idris’s team, I saw a bat flying through Shoreditch. It struck me as an omen of a rebirth which is how I see the track. Fudge is all about knowing you got it, you're hot stuff and everyone wants a piece. The feeling of seeing someone so smooth and mysterious and hypnotising. Idris is a man of so many talents, so being able to jump on this track which had such clear vision was a piece of cake and a blessing of sorts. I can’t wait to hear this on the dance floor, this ones for the club”.

Eliza Legzdina’s promiscuous lyricism pairs impeccably with the rhythmically-driven instrumental, bouncing an effervescent flow atop the bumping ensemble of kicks that stagger authoritatively through the mix. The tongue-in-cheek lyrical content grants ‘Fudge’ the bespoke Idris Elba trademark.

IDRIS ELBA AND TORONTO TALENT CONNOR PRICE COLLABORATE ON HOMAGE TO ‘COURTENEY COX’

Multifaceted producer, singer/ songwriter and DJ, Idris Elba has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest musical talent via his London imprint 7Wallace - Skepta, Little Simz, Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, Che Lingo, Q-tip, Sean-Paul, Stefflon Don – the list is extensive and impressive.

Elba’s first release of 2021 champions new and up and coming Canadian talent and hip-hop enthusiast Connor Price on their collaborative record ‘Courteney Cox’. Released by 7Wallace and Price’s Toronto based imprint, 4 Of Clubs, ‘Courteney Cox’ is high-octane and an infectiously hooky slice of synth-soaked trap – a playful and tongue-in-cheek homage to Connor’s favourite actress and childhood crush.

The collaboration came from an Instagram challenge Idris created after being diagnosed with Covid-19, where he posted a rap and left the third verse open. Connor responded with a freestyle of his own and woke up to a DM from Idris the next morning. From there Idris sent the track to Courteney Cox who wrote and recorded her own lyrics to Idris and Connor’s skit and performed it in the video – what results is a huge serving of fun, wit and humour which doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Hailing via Toronto, Connor Price started releasing music independently under his self-owned ‘4 of clubs’ brand. He began to further develop his sound and fanbase by putting out a brand new song every two weeks. His self-directed/edited video ‘Typical Rapper’ accumulated over 1 million Facebook views in the first month.

7Wallace is the record label founded by Idris Elba in 2015, with the aim of breaking boundaries in dance and hip-hop. Since then the company has expanded to include music publishing, in a joint venture with Universal Music Publishing, and has also set up studios in Central London and Oxford.

Idris Elba LINKS UP WITH THE KNOCKS & TIGGS DA AUTHOR ON 'ONE FINE DAY'

Idris Elba, New York electro-pop producers The Knocks, and Tanzanian-born, South-London bred producer and rapper Tiggs Da Author unveil their anthemic house heater, ‘One Fine Day’.

Released via Idris Elba’ London based label 7Wallace, ‘One Fine Day’ is a high-octane injection of optimism,  with Idris’ lusciously smooth tones are offset with The Knocks’ cascading house beats and euphoric piano chords. Tiggs brings his unforgettably poignant vocals throughout, with emphasis on the swahili word ‘tutafika’, meaning ‘We Will Make It’.

Idris will be donating 100% of his royalties to the Brixton based Black Cultural Archives charity which focuses on painting a more comprehensive picture of Black presence in Britain.

An acclaimed producer, singer/ songwriter and DJ, Idris Elba’ has collaborated with an incredible and eclectic array of artists over the years.  These include Skepta, Little Simz, Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, Q-Tip and with Wiley, Stefflon Don and Sean Paul on ‘Boasty’, one of the biggest tracks of 2019 which has racked up an eye-watering 200+ million streams worldwide since its release.

Idris Elba founded his 7Wallace imprint in 2015 with the aim of breaking boundaries in dance and hip-hop. Artists who’ve released on the label under various collaborative projects include Toddla T, Kah-Lo, Q-Tip, Little Simz, James BKS and Cypress Hill.

Together for over a decade, The Knocks (Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson) have collaborated with the likes of Method Man, Big Boi, Wyclef Jean, Cam’ron and more.

Hailing via New Cross, singer, rapper, writer and producer Tiggs recently released a new single “We Ain’t Scared” and announced a debut album coming later this year.  His sound blends afrobeat, Afrosoul and Afrojazz. His collaboration with Nines 'Oh My', also landed a sync on Drake’s revival of Top Boy last year.

‘One Fine Day’, is a collusion of three very distinct artistic styles collectively looking ahead to brighter days. “With everything that’s going on in the world right now, this song feels very relevant. We just want to spread some hopeful vibes during these trying times” (The Knocks).

Idris Elba releases collaboration with Kah-Lo 'Ballie' after world premiere at Coachella

After dropping new track ‘Ballie’ for the first time in his Coachella set, Idris Elba has put the track out on his own London based label 7Wallace. The self-produced ‘Ballie’ is a hefty slice of jacking peak-time energy offset with the hooky wordplay and vocals of Nigerian and Grammy Nominated MC Kah-Lo.
